Knowledge of self, knowledge of the world

Rudolf Steiner, the famous educationalist said, ‘to truly know the world, look deeply within your own being; to truly know yourself, take real interest in the world.’ This is very much the vision we have at St James. We want our Sixth Form to be men deeply formed in knowledge of themselves and of the world. The more knows oneself the more one can be of service to the world.

In that spirit we were delighted to welcome Baroness Sharp of Guildford last Friday. She outlined the role of the House of Lords and during lunch spoke about a variety of political topics. Today Sixth Form continued to deepen their knowledge of the world by visiting Parliament. They had a tour of the House of Commons and Lords. They then attended a session on British Law.
