Germany: ‘chaotic’ university enrolment

University World News reports that the introduction of a new online application system has been delayed. The Dialogue-oriented Service Procedure, or DoSV, was to be introduced at 300 universities for subjects with admission restrictions, in 2012-13, but now only 40 institutions will take part in a pilot project.  This delay will have most impact on German nationals.  However, this ‘chaos’ should not affect the non-German applicant to German universities. 128 state-approved German universities use the Uni-assist online application system, which carries out the administrative preliminary processing and review of foreign student applications.   For more information go to:  www.uni-assist.de/application-step.html
